Administrative Strategic Planning

Philosophy
Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep (RMUTK) aims to produce graduates who are academically knowledgeable, professionally qualified, well-prepared to enter the work force and adept at keeping pace with the evolution of technology. Graduates will demonstrate strong discipline, exhibit high morals, follow professional ethics and assume social responsibility.
Vision
RMUTK is outstanding in professional education. It aims to develop students’ critical thinking along with practical skills. RUMTK offers an environment where healthy bodies and happy minds dwell in harmony.

Mission
- Provide professional education cultivating both critical thinking and practical skills
- Serve society, particularly in regard to economic development in Thailand and the region
- Embrace collaborative management to build ‘healthy bodies and happy minds’ among staff members and students

-  Create a productive ‘learning environment’ at the university
-   Raise graduates and staff competence as well as promote good morals and codes of conduct

Strategic issues and specific strategies
1. Quality and standards of education management
1.1 Transform the university into a positive learning environment
1.2 Emphasize the importance of cleanliness, convenience and safety in the university
1.3 Develop students’ critical thinking skills, practical skills and ability to communicate effectively in two languages
1.4 Design curriculums that respond to the needs of domestic society while earning international acceptance
1.5 Support quality assurance in education
1.6 Equip students with good morals, codes of conduct and a sense of pride in the university

1.8 Increase the knowledge and ability of administrators and support staff

1. The main priorities at RMUTK are to produce skilled graduates and contribute to the development of society
2. RMUTK is a science and technology university in which 70% of students graduate in the fields of science and technology
3. RMUTK develops graduates who are knowledgeable and skillful in their professions; they have good morals and embrace professional codes of conduct and ethics
4. Effective management is especially required in the following areas:
    4.1 Graduates are competent, qualified and well-accepted
    4.2 Establishment of a non-formal education system
    4.3 An integrated computer network for communication within university buildings and with external organizations to be accomplished by the academic year 2012
    4.4 Management through information system to be established by the academic year 2012
    4.5 The university system for quality assurance in education to be  standardized
4.6 The number of instructors holding Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees to reach a ratio of 5:75:20 by the academic year 2012
    4.7 Elevate the proportion of instructors holding academic positions “Instructor” to “Assistant Professor” to “Associate Professor” to a ratio of 70:27: 2:1 by the academic year 2012
    4.8 Run at least 50 projects/activities for promoting religion, arts and culture yearly
    4.9 Establish standardized sections/units that provide academic and professional services
    4.10 Academic departments run at least two projects/activities offering academic services yearly
    4.11 At least one piece of research, creative or innovative work each year is granted a patent or makes profit
    4.12 Academic departments produce at least one piece of research, creative work or innovative work yearly
    4.13 The proportion of theoretical research to applied research to increase to a ratio of 20:80 by the academic year 2012
    4.14 Conduct yearly evaluation of administrators and instructors’ performance
    4.15 Establish collaborative academic and research networks with external organizations
    4.16 The proportion of the university’s income to government support to reach a ratio of 30:70 by the academic year 2012

Annual budget 2009-2010
1. RMUTK is a science and technology university in which 65% of the students graduate in science and technology
2. At least 75% of graduates acquire gainful employment, with at least 75% earning employer satisfaction with their performance
3. Establish at least five collaborative educational programs with at least four enterprises
4. A complete computer network for communication within teaching buildings to be accomplished
5. The results for the internal quality assurance in education to reach at least 2.4 points on a scale of 3
6. The results for the external evaluation run by ‘Kor Por  Ror’ reach at least 4 points on a scale of 5
7. Success in managing the university budget as a government unit to reach 50 points
8. The proportion of instructors with Bachelor’s, Master’s and Doctoral degrees to reach a ratio of 10:80:10
9. Increase the proportion of instructions with academic positions of “Instructor” to “Assistant Professor” to “Associate Professor” to reach a ratio of 78:21: 2:1.
10. Run at least 50 projects/activities for promoting religion, arts and culture
11. At least one piece of research, creative work or innovative work is granted a patent or makes profit
12. Provide academic or professional services for at least 5 external sections/units
13. Organize at least 104 academic service projects/activities
14. Evaluation of instructors to reach an average of 4.
15. Establish at least one research network is established.
16. Establish at least seven academic networks domestically and seven more internationally
17. At least 25% of the total annual budget is derived from the university’s own income
